Introducing the Little Composters Preschool Curriculum: Growing Green Together
At the heart of every meaningful change is a spark—and for me, that spark was composting. As a child, I remember the wonder of watching food scraps turn into rich soil, realizing for the first time that even waste could have purpose. That early experience planted the seed for what has now become my lifelong passion for environmental stewardship and sustainability.
Today, I’m so proud to introduce the Little Composters Classroom program, a joyful, interactive, and hands-on learning experience designed to inspire the next generation of Earth heroes.
What Is It?
The Little Composters curriculum is a 30–60 minute program tailored for elementary-aged children. Through storytelling, sensory play, games, and guided conversation, it introduces the basic concepts of composting, sustainability, and caring for the planet.
What’s Included:
A digital copy of The Compost Hero, my children’s book that brings composting to life, and an engaging “Can It Go? Yes or No!” sorting game that teaches what belongs in a compost bin in an easy, fun game, a hands-on composting activity where kids make their own “compost cup” or you can make a compost bin for your classroom. Interactive questions that spark curiosity and critical thinking about nature, waste, and a whole lot of fun, connection, and learning.
Why It Matters
While I know composting alone won’t save the planet, I believe it teaches something deeper: how small actions add up, and how caring for the Earth starts with awareness and intention. My goal is not just to teach about composting, but to plant the seeds of lifelong environmental curiosity and responsibility.
Passing on the lesson in this program is about more than just facts—it’s about passing on the same wonder I felt as a child. I want today’s kids to see that they have the power to protect the world around them, starting right in their backyard.
